Your kokua needed for SoCal fire victims

Honolulu, HI – A message from your Business Manager/Financial Secretary, Damien Kim:

“As most of you know, Southern California is experiencing many out of control wildfires similar to what happened in Lahaina in 2023. While the fires continue to devastate homes and lives, please keep them in your prayers as they did for us with Lahaina. IBEW Locals and members in California donated over $250,000 to our IBEW members and their families in Lahaina. Now it’s our turn to help and show our Aloha to our Sisters and Brothers in California. Please see the article below. I will keep you informed as I get updates from the 9th District. Mahalo!”

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

We are saddened to report that at least 25 L.A. residents have lost their lives and some IBEW members have lost their homes in the recent LA and Southern California fires.

The recent fires in Los Angeles have devastated many, and we are actively collaborating with local union Business Managers to support impacted members.

One of our own, IBEW Local 40 Treasurer Brother Xavier Marquez, lost his home in Altadena due to the Eaton fire.

We urge our #IBEW members to rally around Brother Marquez during this unimaginable tragedy. His family has set up a verified GoFundMe account to help them rebuild their lives. You can contribute HERE.

Together, we can demonstrate our solidarity and truly impact the lives of those in need. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Our hearts go out to all impacted, and we’ll keep you updated on how else you can help. Thank you for your support during this difficult time.

Together, we can show our solidarity and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for your generosity and support!

In Solidarity,

David E. Reaves Jr.

International Vice President

IBEW Ninth District
