Holidays are near! Attend your union meetings!
Honolulu, HI-This pandemic has been difficult on many. Especially for those of us who have lost loved ones, gotten ill, lost jobs, had to adjust to an entire new way of living adjusting work/schooling from home, and balancing life – therefore being under very stressful and difficult times. While we realize a musical tribute and show featuring ways to help various charities may not solve the world’s problems, we also know as a membership that we want to help those in most need right now – Hawaii’s youth, Hawaii’s hungry, and those who are in need of lifesaving blood.
We will be featuring three very deserving non-profits – the Hawaii Food Bank, Adult Friends for Youth, and bringing attention to the need for more blood donations during their normal lull of the summer season at the Blood Bank of Hawaii. In addition, as stated earlier, we will have five top Hawaii musical acts perform for you, along with one never-before-heard track that is an old-time Hawaii-favorite, dedicated to the Class of 2020 grads, who not only lost monumental moments in their Senior year, but did not get to celebrate their graduation as usual.
Most importantly, we pay tribute to our amazing MEMBERS. Most of our members have been deemed essential throughout this pandemic, and have needed to continue going to work, to keep Hawaii’s communication lines up and running smoothly. This one is for YOU. We are so grateful for your hard work, dedication to your job, family, and union, and most of all, to your communities (us). So sit back, and relax and make sure you join us for our premiere of “From Our Hearts to Yours” on Thursday, May 28th at 8 PM on K5.
Hosted by McKenna Maduli from Hawaii News Now, musical acts performing will be: Johnny Suite, Shawn Pimental and Lehua Kalima (from Na Leo), Hawaiian Style Band, a rare performance by Pure Heart, and Rebel Souljahz.
